Dedicated to all the tomboy “gurls ” out there…
In every tomboy’s life a time comes……..
When others opinions start to matter.
When she finally understands the difference between an eye liner and mascara….
When her sports shoes spend more time in the shoe shelf…..

In every tomboy’s life a time comes……
When she’d rather be known as Abha Deshkar-“the one with pretty shoes” than “Abha Deshkar Tendulkar”….
When she dumps her t-shirts and shops for halter necks…
When traditional dress is something more than –kurti n jeans….

In every tomboy’s life a time comes……..
When she turns to “Bombay times” before the sports section….
When she asks for advice on lip gloss….
When “when u say nothing at all” comes before “it’s my life” on her playlist…..

In every tomboy’s life a time comes……..
When she wants to look beautiful and makes conscious efforts for it…..
When she buys those uncomfortable heels rather than the trustworthy floaters…
When she starts to flirt…with her finches :-)

In every tomboy’s life a time comes……..
When she starts taking interest in the kitchen….
When she misses her train coz her hair just won’t turn the way she wants them to…..
When she no longer mocks at girls who take hours to get ready…..

In every tomboy’s life a time comes……..
When she is no longer embarrassed of hugging her mom on the airport…..
When she feels that its “ok” to cry in front of others….
When the first word that comes to her mind on hearing marriage is not “YUCK!”

In every tomboy’s life a time comes…….

I have a suggestion for the developers of facebook….

The relation ship status option should have “it’s complicated” as a complimentary….
Eg: single and it’s complicated..
Committed and it’s complicated…
Married and IT’S COMPLICATED..

Because whoever, however and wherever you are…it’s always complicated!

Talking more about relationships– they are of many kinds
Between u and your bf/gf
Relationship between friends
Between colleagues
Between u and ur boss..

And just like marriage…every relationship goes thru different stages…

FIRST is the honeymoon period
just imagine..your first job is like being on a honeymoon…you love everything about the new place. You actually find your boss good. You are on your best behaviour….
When honeymooning your friend..you are the most compassionate, loving, caring soul and so is the other person….you like everything..yes everything about him/her and you even laugh on his stupid jokes…(girls puhleeeeease!!)

SECOND stage is what i like to call the revelation stage
When you realize that your gf nags a little too much…
When you realize your bf is looking over your shoulder at another hot chick..
When you realize your friend has other, more important priorities in her life
When you realize your boss is a ———-taking credit for all your work..
And you wonder how do i sustain??????

The answer to this lies in the THIRD stage the acceptance stage
When you accept that a person is different from the image that you have formed in your mind and often in you heart…

But then not as bad as you thought in the 2nd stage…..

I believe that any person who can make a smooth transition from the 2nd stage to the 3rd is a winner…

You boss does not sanction your holidays but your name is on the appraisal roll…
Your friend could not be present on your birthday but she was there on the day you flunked..
Your bf glances at the hot chick and then gives you a kiss on your forehead…
Your gf is a strict vegetarian but is learning to cook ‘anda bhurji’ coz u like it…

And in the end some relationships bloom…
Some just survive……
Some die a natural death….
While some end in a bitter divorce…..
……………………..

…………………………………..and life goes on…………………………..

I wrote this poem for a friend’s movie (shodh-the search) …2 yrs ago…

With guilt in the heart
And water in the eyes
I look and i stare
At the dark ugly skies……

I dont know what i want
But i am searching for something
A feeling that’s in me,
But is still unknown to me……..

I have forgotten what joy means
Happiness is a feeling of the past
The present seems uncertain,
And the future dark…………….

This world fails to please me
I have never felt this way before
Nobody understands me out here,
I dont let anybody so near………….

Again i look at the sky,
And see myself as the cloud,
Shying away from the world,
But pouring my heart out……..

I am like a caged bird,
Crying out for help
The people out there look and laugh
Thinking i am enjoying myself…………

Not the heart, the teeth are smiling
Not the soul the face is shining.
But i still cannot complain can i,
For i am still trying……

We search for many things
To fill the void within
We collect our earthly wares
But find emptiness within…..

The heart sings a lonely song
A sense of losing all along
Like a white washed wall i want to start all over
This time round a bit slower……….
